charming stay

historic siteshelpful staffcomfortable bed
I found the location excellent, it's near historic sites (like the castle) and interesting streets. the staff were helpful. They provided information about local attractions. my room was quite cosy. I slept well in the comfortable bed.
breakfast had instant coffee, a small letdown.
Dining
9/10
the breakfast offered many options, especially for those with allergies or intolerances, and included fresh fruit salad. coffee refills were available as desired, and the breakfast staff were attentive during service (i enjoyed the pastries!).
Facilities
8/10
The tv in my room had a good screen size and picture quality, and offered many channels. i also felt good because the staff stored my bike securely. It was a welcome relief after my long ride.
Location
10/10
This place is close to the heart of things, a short walk to many main attractions. the views overlook the strand towards winchelsea. I enjoyed the scenery from my window.
Rooms
9/10
My room had ample space between the beds and the tv and felt fairly quiet at night. the shower was powerful, height-adjustable, and had plenty of hot water with a spacious cubicle. A bath would have been nice though.

The staff provided excellent assistance with information about the area (history!). Breakfast was delicious, with warm dishes made fresh to order. The hotel's location is perfect for visiting nearby attractions, such as St Mary's church and Mermaid Street. I also liked that the tv included prime.
I thought this detracted slightly from the overall charm.

the staff were friendly. the room had all necessary amenities included. breakfast each morning was delicious. there was a great selection of fresh options.
i expected the large room with the four poster bed, but i didn't get this room. there were cob webs behind the curtains in the corner of the windows. the fan in the wardrobe was dusty so we didn't use it. the water pressure in the shower was a dribble.
